Hungerford Bookshop has been throwing a summer soirée of bookish
delight in the courtyard behind the shop for a few years now.
Readers look forward to listening to four authors speak for ten minutes
each about their new books over plenty of Pimms and nibbles.
This year’s line up sounds fantastic. Lucy Atkins (author of Magpie
Lane) will be talking about her novel Windmill Hill – perfect for fans of
Miss Benson’s Beetle; Vanessa de Haan will be taking us back in time
from the smoking battlefields of France to the rich estates of Devon in
her novel A Time to Live, and Jackie Fraser will be sharing her tale of
love, hope & friendship in The Beginning of Everything.
Finally bestselling travel writer Ben Aitken (author of The Marmalade
Diaries and The Gran Tour) returns to talk about his joyful new book,
Here Comes The Fun: A Journey Into the Serious Business of Having a
Laugh.
Booksellers will also share their favourite reads of the year so far, and
